WatchList 2007 - Top 20

The following 20 WatchList 2007 "red" list species are among the most imperiled bird species that regularly breed in the continental U.S. They need our help simply to survive amid a convergence of environmental challenges, including habitat loss, invasive species and global warming.

Note--Many U.S. species that are not on the WatchList are still experiencing significant declines in specific regions and local areas. Locally focused conservation priorities established by states and regions can effectively catalog and address these changes in populations and subspecies in addition to those identified on the WatchList.
